A young Taiwanese team developed FLOW, a modular system capable of printing and scanning objects in three dimensions, but also to carry out work, laser engraving, and in a single device less than 600 euros. Perfect for democratizing 3D printing and homemade items at home.

Its design is both compact, minimalist and elegant hides a huge development potential. The moving parts of the 3D printer are interchangeable. Its magnetic modules allow to transform in seconds without tools into a 3D scanner or a laser engraver.

The 3D printer FLUX would, according to its designers, printing plastic objects quickly and accurately. For those who have not mastered the design of 3D objects on a computer, FLUX has a real scanner that allows to reproduce copies of objects without any effort. Finally, the laser engraving module enables, for example, customize wooden boxes of the items you create.

In the future, the inventors of FLUX consider providing modules for creating ceramics and even extrude pasta such as jam or chocolate. With its open SDK, developers can unleash their imagination to create new modules.

FLUX works with Bluetooth smartphones and tablets. The FLUX Studio application allows simple design 3D objects before printing, download existing 3D models or share your own creation.

To start the mass production of FLOW, the small team launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Objective: 100,000 dollars. After only one day of campaigning, the challenge is successful with over 138,000 dollars raised. You will invest US $ 679 to receive the complete kit scheduled for July, 2015.
